Got a new monitor - LG Flatron W2753V with CD install that provides forteManager (India) application. Problem solved: WoW I had the same problem with this and windows 7 so here is the fix guys.
Install forteManager from the web site run as admin and restart Pc. Then on the shortcut right click and click on troubleshoot compatablity then trouble shoot program and then select the program worked in early versions. One thing to note - monitor.exe does not exit when closing the window. To try out a new compatibility setting, make sure to close the process with TaskManager after setting a new compatibility mode. I have a laptop and I installed the forteManager on it so I could use my LG on it. So my laptop is a w7 64bit and I did the same thing with it and it all works fine.
I do have to close the program on start up and click on the short cut to get it going after I use the laptop screen and then go back to the LG. You need to play around with the compatibility settings and see what you come up with cuz thats all I did. Wish I could help more but ya gota be persistant whaen chasing problems like this. I know it will work if it worked on this ASUS laptop of mine just some settings need to be changed. Mess with the shortcut thats what made it work for me because it would not work after I had installed it till I set the short cut to the settings I told ya about.
